A targeted crack in your road. Layers of soil you hide within. There are cracks in empty roads that lay ahead. These gaps that need no filling, simply because everything you do can be excused for what’s on the surface. My roads have no cover for. No treatment for the ordinary. Ordinary roads with broken roots that stretch out for miles. The tears I shed won’t heal anything, the sky will continue to bleed, and these wounded roads will not wait for recovery. The cracks will continue to sink into this hollowness.

Moving fast, but not looking back. Stop and everything behind is in a blur. People are disappearing in your blur, but you’re moving on. The nest has already been broken. Questioning your intentions might turn out to be just in the intertidal zone. No one can knock you down now, but when they do - you’ll feel lost and exposed in the deep.

Remnants of a contained structure can spill into layers of unconfined roads
With this I feel like beginnings will continue to contain myself still -

Sonnenzimmer x Michael Cina ‘s Ghostly International Showcase at Bumbershoot Festival Poster

Ghostly International is a super rad Ann Arbor-based label focusing on every imaginable genre of electronic music. Michael Cina is an extremely talented Minneapolis-based designer with a delicate sensibility and an unparalleled knack for space and color. This poster is a collaboration between all three of us, celebrating Ghostly International’s label showcase at the 2011 Bumbershoot festival in Seattle, Washington. Ghostly provided the music. Cina and us created the imagery print-pong style, bouncing files back and fourth over the course of a week.

Sonnenzimmer came to CalArts to teach a practicum workshop in which the students did screenprinted posters based on spontaneity, time, and collaboration. Although I am very sad I could not get the workshop, I enjoyed their lecture and brought their beautiful 6-color screenprint Ghostly International poster. This inspires me to do 3+ screenprints,experiment with different colors, and also more imagemaking!
